About the list

With countless books available on writing, finding the right one for your specific project, process, and approach can be challenging. To simplify the search, the Graduate Writer’s Reading List offers a carefully curated selection of books recommended by experienced graduate writers and writing mentors.

Drawing from insights shared by trusted UAF colleagues and writing experts, this collection includes diverse approaches to academic writing—whether you’re looking for guidance on process or practice, concise advice or in-depth exploration.

All books included in this list are available in physical format at Rasmuson Library, with some also available as eBooks.
