Library Collections: General Collection

The general collection includes books, periodicals, serials, videos, scores, recorded music, electronic resources, and many other materials.

Generally, we do not purchase textbooks. We select resources that will best support the research and teaching needs of all UAF students, faculty and researchers. For information about collection development procedures for the general collection, see our Collection Development Policy.

The general collection is housed on levels 3-4 of Rasmuson Library:

• Level 5 houses general collections A-Z including reference materials
• Level 4 houses bestsellers and popular reading materials
• Level 3 houses periodicals, atlases and gov docs
