Library Databases vs. Google

Searching library databases is much different that searching Google.

When searching Google most people type questions or phrases into the search box. This is called natural language searching.

When searching library databases, it's best to pick out the major concepts of your research question instead of typing out a question.

Boolean Searching

When searching library databases you'll use Boolean searching. The reading and video below review how to use the Boolean operators AND, OR, NOT.
