Elmer E. Rasmuson Library 50 Objects Project

The Elmer E. Rasmuson Library is celebrating its 50th anniversary this spring, and would like your help in choosing its most precious and unique items for a special exhibit.

The library plans to highlight 50 Objects – books, artworks, maps, historical photographs, recordings, projects, etc. – that are exceptional and that demonstrate the outstanding resources of the Rasmuson Library. Please help us by nominating your favorite objects today!

Please use this form to make nominations: https://forms.gle/tN9J9UNwu6LJ5o8s6

What items from the library have you observed or utilized that you believe are extraordinary? What projects or resources associated with the Rasmuson Library would you like to champion and make others aware of? What objects tell the story of the library?

Any member of the community who has visited the Rasmuson Library over the past 50 years may send in responses through March 15, 2020. A selection committee will choose the top 50 highlights from among all nominations. The selected objects will be revealed May 3, 2020, during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the library’s dedication.

Thanks in advance for your great ideas! For more information, contact library staff member Angela Schmidt at ajschmidt@alaska.edu.
