We're Hiring a Processing and Public Services Assistant

We’re hiring a half-time position to arrange and describe collections, create original finding aids, develop inventories of holdings, and guide people to the materials they need.

You’ll have the opportunity to organize rare and unique materials making them more accessible to all types of people from local history enthusiasts to global researchers and students.

You’ll also gain experience overseeing patrons and maintaining various databases.

The archives holds materials from thousands of sources, including gold miners, politicians, Alaska Natives, and archaeologists. It’s also the main repository for the University of Alaska (founded in 1917).

It will be your job to create access points for people from around the globe to our diverse collections. If you want to be involved with the newest stories being told about Alaska and the North, then this is the perfect place for you.
