Scheduling Films or Videos for classes or events
If you need to reserve a film or video for a specific date, you can stop by in person or call the Media Desk 907-474-7072 and reserve it; we offer this service to faculty or official student activities or clubs.
Please try to reserve films/videos at least two weeks in advance. For scheduled formal classes, please notify us at the beginning of the semester. Others are subject to approval by the Media Technician Supervisor.

Placing Material on Reserve
Things to Note Before Placing Material on Reserve
- Reserve materials must be submitted at least 1 week prior to the date needed by students, in order to guarantee availability for checkout. Requests to put materials on reserve are processed in the order received.
- Instructors may place personal copies and/or library materials on Reserve for up to two semesters. We encourage instructors to place materials on Reserve which are in short supply or which are going to be assigned to the whole class to read/view independently.
Finding Reserves
For Electronic Reserves (ERes)
Search ERes for electronic reserves. You can search by department, instructor, or course number. To access electronic reserves, you'll need the password that your instructor gave to you.
Check-out Policies for Hard Copy Reserve Materials
- Patrons may check out up to three Reserve items at one time.
- Material circulating from the Reserve Desk is subject to strict time limits. Overdue materials accrue fines at the rate of .25/hour.
- Reserve materials may not be renewed.
- Return reserve materials to the Reserve Desk in the library; Do not put into outside book drops.
Reserves
There are two types of reserves: hard copy and electronic (ERes).
- The Reserve desk houses personal hard copies of items as well as materials which are in high demand and/or short supply, and which have been designated by the instructor to be available for check out for limited periods of time (typically 2-72 hours).
- Electronic reserves are password protected and accessible online via
ERes. You'll need your course information, including a password given to you by your instructor.
