Digital Photographic Services

Our services include:

We provide professional digital imaging services to the university community and to the public. We specialize in working with old materials such as albums and delicate original negatives and prints and with large items such as maps and original artwork.

We can image items up to 40" by 60" in a single pass, and can scan film formats from 35mm up to 8x10 and panorama. Our large format photo printers can make prints up to 24" wide by almost any length (the longest print to date is 25 feet long). Our large-format plotter can produce professional posters and other large prints up to 54" wide by many feet long.

Historical Photographs

Historical photographs include over 1,000,000 images dating from the 1870s to the present, documenting Alaska, the Yukon Territory, and Eastern Siberia. Of particular interest may be the Alaskan gold rushes (1880-1909), World War II in Alaska (1940-1945), the transition to statehood (1956-1967), and the Pipeline boom (1974 -1977).
