Rasmuson Library has 10 rooms for meetings and conferences. Groups meeting in these rooms must be affiliated with the University of Alaska. The rooms may be scheduled for UAF departmental meetings, individual class meetings, thesis defenses, teleconferences, interviews, seminars, and other educational or cultural, non-commercial, UAF-related purposes. Our conference rooms are available for use Sunday through Saturday during normal library hours. Activities taking place in the library’s reserved rooms must end at least a half-hour before the library’s closing time. Reservations are limited to four hours per day.
To schedule a room, or for more information, please contact the library media desk at 474-7072. Due to high demand for our rooms, please notify us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your reservations.
Room Use Policies
- The requester and room users are responsible for all equipment set-up and room arrangement. Audiovisual or other meeting equipment may be reserved at the library media desk. After your meeting, the chairs and tables are to be returned to their original arrangement. No heating devices or open flames (such as candles) are allowed in these rooms.
- Equipment housed in meeting rooms is not to be removed moved to another location.
- Users must leave the room clean and ready for the next user.
- The only library room available for catered meetings is the Kayak Room. If you will be hosting such a meeting, notify the media desk and ensure that users and Dining Services have removed all items before you leave the room.
- Rooms cannot be scheduled for semester-long classes (please contact Academic Scheduling at 478 1823 or email@example.com).
- The library reserves the right to move any event to an alternate room if one is available. This very rarely happens, but, if it does, you will be notified immediately.
- In the Media Classroom (room 340)—meetings may be subject to cancellation on short notice if the room is needed for large training sessions, live webinars, or concurrent live video/teleconferences.
- In the Instructional (Micro) Computer Lab (room 301)—priority will be given to individual sessions of for-credit courses. Due to heavy demand, early scheduling of this lab is strongly encouraged. When not reserved, this room may be used for individual study. The schedule for the room is posted on the lab door.
