The library provides facilities which may be used for departmental meetings, individual class meetings, thesis defenses, teleconferences, satellite downlinks (Media Classroom only), interviews, seminars, and other educational or cultural, non-commercial UA-related purposes.
- Groups meeting in these rooms must be affiliated with the University of Alaska unless by special arrangement.
- No charges are made to University of Alaska affiliates for use of these rooms.
- Due to high demand we cannot schedule reoccuring semester-long classes in these rooms.
For scheduling or information, contact the Media Desk at 474-7072. You cannot use Google calendar to schedule these rooms yourself.
Activities taking place within the library’s reserved rooms must end at least 1/2 hour prior to the library’s closing time. The rooms can only be used when the library is OPEN, unless by special arrangement. The library reserves the right to cancel any meeting if necessary, with advance notification to the person who made the original reservation. Meetings in the Media Classroom may be subject to cancellation on short notice if the room is needed for a satellite downlink.
For the Instructional (Micro) Computer Lab, priority will be given to individual sessions of for-credit courses. Due to heavy demand, early scheduling of this lab is strongly encouraged. We cannot schedule semester-long classes in these rooms.
No food, heating devices, or open flames (such as candles) are allowed in these rooms. Furniture and equipment may be rearranged as needed provided users return the room to its original arrangement at the conclusion of the meeting. Additional equipment may be reserved and picked up at the Library Media Desk. If you are scheduling catering in the Kayak Room, PLEASE clean up afterwards.
