Video Duplication

Bring your video and your video duplication request form to the Media Equipment desk located on the main floor of the Rasmuson Library.

We can duplicate

  • Video or audio that you have produced. This includes course/class videos, camcorder tapes and any programs for which you hold the copyright.
  • Video or audio for which you have express, written permission from the copyright holder to duplicate. A signed copy of this permission must be provided when the duplication request is made.

We cannot duplicate

  • Commercially produced VHS videos and DVDs. This includes movies and television programs, among others.
  • Programs that have been recorded from any broadcast source (i.e., movies, television shows, news programs, and cable/satellite programs).
  • Non-commercial audio or video if you are not the producer or copyright holder (i.e., demonstration tapes, corporate videos, music videos, etc.).

Who can use our services (you must present proof of affiliation)

  • Current UAF students, faculty and staff
  • Current Alumni Association members
  • Emeriti

Formats

We can copy to or from any of the following formats:

  • DVD
  • CD
  • VHS, VHS-C; VHS (Standard); VHS (International)
  • 8mm; Digital 8mm
  • MiniDV
  • Audio cassette

Editing

We will only make copies. If you need to edit a file, you may check out one of our Mac or PC laptops, or contact the OIT help desk (907-450-8300).

Duplication Prices

To DVD from MiniDV,, VHS-C, Standard and International VHS, and 8 mm tape:
1st copy $20
Additional copies $5.00 each

To DVD from DVD:
All copies $5

To CD from CD or audio cassette:
1st copy $20
Additional copies $5.00 each

Note: All prices include tapes or discs. You may provide your own unopened media but it will not affect the price of the duplication.

The fine print

  • Academic/teaching materials are always given priority. You may be asked to show proof of affiliation.
  • Depending on our workload, and the size of your order, these services may take 10 or more days to complete.
  • We reserve the right to decline non-academic material.
