See our Library Services Updates page for information about changes to Rasmuson Library Services.

UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Temporary Closure of the 23-hour Study Area

The University is closing the 23-hour study area for the time being. This will allow time for cleaning and time to develop a re-opening strategy to address problems with mask-wearing and social-distancing compliance.

We at Rasmuson Library understand the critical importance of the all-hours study area to many of our students, and we hope the University will be able to re-open it soon.

Please remember that, during library hours, we can book rooms and carrels for individual study, and we have plenty of space for groups to meet (masked and properly distanced).
