UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Ruff semester? Dogs in the library!

Dogs in the libraryRuff semester? Rasmuson Library patrons will again be able to spend time with companion dogs during finals week.

Volunteers and their dogs from Companions Inc. will be on Level 4 of the library on

  • Tuesday, May 6, 1 p.m.–5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 7, 4 p.m.–8:30 p.m
  • Thursday, May 8, 1 p.m.–5 p.m.

Patrons are invited to visit the dogs and enjoy a few stress-free minutes. Patrons are asked not to bring their own pets to the library.
