See our Library Services Updates page for information about changes to Rasmuson Library Services.

UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Rasmuson Library Re-opening: Phase B

Starting Monday, June 29th, Rasmuson Library will be open to UAF faculty, staff and students via ID card swipe, according to the following hours:

  • Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Saturday-Sunday 12:00pm-6:00pm

Non-UAF members of the public may obtain library materials upon request by making an appointment 24 hours ahead.

The library has installed plexiglass barriers at all public counter stations, will be cleaning all public equipment and spaces on a frequent schedule, and staff are staggering work schedules to ensure social distancing.

It is preferred that all library visitors and staff wear masks when in transit through the library building and entryways.

With a large building like the library, it is easy for our patrons to socially distance themselves at tables and study carrels. Hand sanitizer is available as well as soap and water in restrooms. Group study rooms are not available for reservation at this time. We thank you for helping us stay safe while gradually re-opening for service.

We're getting ready to safely re-open for YOU!
