UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Paul H. McCarthy Research Award for Students

Undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines are eligible to apply for an award of $2,500 for a research project using any collection at the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections & Archives at the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library.

The topic of the project should focus on the library’s history. A finished product could be a library exhibit, short film, a series of web publications, or other product. Work must be completed no later than May 3, 2020.

The deadline to apply is December 1, 2019. See more information about this award and/or apply.

This award is part of the URSA Student Awards program.
