UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Head of Libraries Public Forums Scheduled

Three candidates for the Head of Libraries position will give a public lecture as part of the selection process.

Individual presentations by Karen Jensen, Clement Guthro, and Steven Harris will focus on their vision for the library.

Each session will be 30-45 minutes long, with questions following. Audience members will then be able to submit online comments on each candidate.

Faculty, staff and students are strongly encouraged to attend these presentations. A reception with light hors d’oeuvres will follow forums.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 26, 4-5 p.m. Karen Jensen will give her presentation in Engineering Learning & Innovation Facility (ELIF) room 401 BP Design Theater
  • Monday, Oct. 1, 4-5 p.m. Clement Guthro will give his presentation in Engineering Learning & Innovation Facility (ELIF) room 401 BP Design Theater
  • Wednesday, Oct. 10, 4-5 p.m. Steven Harris will give his presentation in Schaible Auditorium.
