See our Library Services Updates page for information about changes to Rasmuson Library Services.

UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

First Year Experience Seminar : Hidden Mysteries

It's not too late to enroll in the First Year Experience (FYE) seminar Hidden Mysteries taught by professor Leslie McCartney.

  • Course: FYE F100 F04 CRN 75744
  • When: Tuesdays 3:40 - 5:10 pm September 8 - November 6
  • Description: A scroll of papyrus paper containing nine mathematical problems, a stone-age tool, a pot shard, a credit card, a microchip … every object, found in every corner of the globe tells a story of how humans, in just over two million years, have shaped our world and have been shaped by it. We will look at museum artifacts that shine a light on human history worldwide and in Alaska.
