UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Katherine Arndt is new APR Bibliographer

The library is pleased to announce the faculty appointment of Dr. Katherine Arndt as Alaska & Polar Regions Bibliographer and Curator of Rare Books. Many of you know Kathy through her work in the manuscripts and archives unit of APR, or through her accomplishments as an historian of Russian America. Kathy brings a deep knowledge of Alaska history, APR collections, and the international scholarly community to this position. Her exceptional talents make her uniquely qualified to assess and build APR's research collections. Please welcome Kathy to her new role as Assistant Professor and APR Bibliographer!
