UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Fall 2020 Library Student Orientation

Join librarians Genova, Paul, and Ilana for an online (Zoom) orientation about getting familiar with Rasmuson Library services & resources, and you'll be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate, for a free drink or treat, at one of the coffee shops on campus. You must attend the orientation to be eligible for the drawing.  

In this 1 hour orientation, we'll cover topics such as:

  • building access & library hours
  • off-campus access to resources
  • checking out material
  • printing, copying, scanning
  • study spaces
  • library collections
  • interlibrary loan
  • research help
  • taking LS101
  • and more!
