The Government Documents and Maps collection is one of 1250 federal depository collections in the United States. Rasmuson Library receives about 40% of the titles available for depository collections making it one of the largest federal documents collections in Alaska. The map and atlas collection is worldwide in scope with an emphasis on Alaska and northern Canada. Located on Level 5, Rasmuson Library.
Alaska’s Digital Archives
Alaska’s Digital Archives presents a wealth of historical photographs, albums, oral histories, moving images, maps, documents, physical objects, and other materials from libraries, museums and archives throughout our state. You should also check the Alaska History Store and image galleries.
Alaska and Polar Regions Collections (APR)
APR collections contain materials that document the past and present of Alaska and polar regions, both Arctic and Antarctic. Geographically the Arctic includes northern Canada, Greenland, northern Scandinavia, Iceland, and northern Russia (Siberia and the Russian Far East). APR Research Room materials include archives, manuscripts, historic photographs, rare books and maps, oral histories and archival films. APR is located on Level 2, Rasmuson Library.
