Module 3: Library Catalogs

After completing this module, you will:

  1. Have a basic understanding of the type of information in library catalogs.
  2. Be able to interpret library catalog records, specifically:
    a. Locate the call number within a record;
    b. Determine what level the item may be found on in the library;
    c. For books, determine the author of the item and the year the book was published.
  3. Be able to use the Type limiter to limit your search to a specific format (e.g., a printed books, electronic books, DVDs).
