Blocks on your Account

If you are unable to log on and view your Library Catalog account, it may be that your account has been "blocked" or "barred." There could be several reasons for this:

  1. We tried to send you email or regular mail and it was returned; we need an updated address or email from you.
  2. One of the items you have checked out has been recalled by another patron; you should get an email notice indicating the recalled item.
  3. One or more items you have checked out is "long overdue," or overdue by more than 8 weeks. You should have received a reminder notice and two overdue notices before the block takes effect, but if you have not renewed or returned the item by that time your account will be "barred."
  4. You may have an overdue media equipment item; these will cause your account to be "barred" immediately, because other patrons may be waiting for the equipment you have.

The best way to remedy this problem is to call the Circulation Desk, at (907) 474-6762, for more information, to let us investigate, or to provide a current address. If you believe that the "block" or "barred" status is incorrect for some reason, please ask for the Circulation Supervisor on duty when you call.
