See our Library Services Updates page for information about changes to Rasmuson Library Services.

UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Dirk Tordoff retirement

filmphoto4dirkretirementpage.pngDirk Tordoff retired at the end of May after 20 years as director of the Alaska Film Archives. With his enthusiasm for motion pictures and a great knowledge of Alaska history, Dirk transformed the University's film archives from modest beginnings to a world-class collection housed within the Rasmuson Library. His primary goal has always been to make this amazing collection of moving images available and accessible to students, researchers, producers, and anyone with an interest in Alaska. Interim Film Archivist Angela Schmidt will be filling in to continue this goal.
